Default 1981 Wiring under the hood

Can anybody identify what these harness' are meant for? They're on the passenger side of the engine, there appears to be (3x) 2-pin connectors (1x) 3-pin connector, (1x) ground connection, and the harness for the temperature sensor. Everything appears to connect back two two large 6-pin harness close to the firewall.

Do you still have the original computer controlled carburetor and distributor?

Here's a wiring diagram, if that helps.

Then probably all of that is from the original set up. If your distributor has a vacuum advance can on passenger side it is a replacement distributor.

WOW, it looks like someone started to eliminate the emissions stuff and quit midstream. You still do have the CCC carb as it shows the solinoids on the carb. I cant speak for the distributor as we can't see it. It also looks like something got burned on that one connector. At this point it's probably easier to just eliminate all emmisions wiring and components and convert carb and distributor to pre 1981.

My hope is to remove anything that's just taking up space, these harnesses were just zip-tied to the AC tensioner support. Since i wasnt sure what they were for i don't want to remove them preemptively.

I just pulled the carb today and there were no wires attached at any points on it.

Some of them would go back to the ECM in battery compartment. If you intend to keep the car get the factory service manual.
