I have had trouble with my own LS-5 in this regard. The hanger (#9) is a strange shape and the exhaust clamps just don't seem to fit it well. You can see in the illustration that the clamp is more like a strap than the off-the-shelf round-U clamp, which is what I'm using. I've not looked into it as it's a pretty low priority at the moment but am curious what others say on the matter.
Are the forward exhaust brackets a standard 2.5” or shaped specific for the bracket that holds both exhaust?
Exhaust bracket for LS5 is the 2.5 inch, Should be same from 68 BB to 73??
Small block is 2 inch
Check the judging manual as the exhaust clamps are different configuration between 71 and 72 and that applies to 72 Lt1 too
