That PPL wire connects to the 'S' terminal on the starter solenoid.
It turns on the starter when the key is in 'START'.

ok, I didn;t explain well, sometimes I suck a little at online communication of my thoughts..

I know about the purple wire, & figured this was it.
What I'm asking for is how does one interpret: 6A-12-PPL(GBS) ?
I've got the manual with diagrams, but I'm not quite sure what the syntax is...

Appreciate the help,
R

6a should be wire no in drawing/s and 12 is size/gauge

6 is the common circuit number, if you follow circuit 6 out it "May" be associated with the Starter Interlock override relay labeled 6C
At the bulkhead connector it is labeled 6B
You can see where this is going...
When you draw a line between point A and all points in between it is all part of circuit 6...

The circuit numbers are listed in the 1974 Service manual on page 12-78.
