since I’ve rebuilt my headlights and vacuums I have a strange issue. If my headlights are on I can turn the car key to off position and take it out but the engine won’t turn off. If I shut the lights off car starts/turns off normally. For the life of me I can’t figure out why it keeps running while headlights are on. To be honest I don’t know what gives the signal to the engine to turn off or where is the circuit breaker if it’s even called like that? Any help would be appreciated.
Clearly something isn't wired correctly. Did someone add headlight relays to the car? Perhaps didn't understand how to wire them correctly. Headlights should work car on or off. Headlight wiring should not be connected in any way to power feed for cars ign.

No everything is stock. My thinking is when you turn the key to off it should stop the power going from alternator to…. Something. But it seams while the lights are on electricity is fed from headlights power to that same something. So I just need to figure out what is that ‘something’ or how the car is turned off. What stops being powered to turn off the engine? If someone can explain the process I can start tracing where headlight wires cross path with that something.
