Default '68 radio harness

Can anyone tell me if this color coding on the radio power plug input is correct: Yellow=switched 12volts, Black=ground, Gray=12volts constant power. I need both 12v igniting switched and 12v constant for a new radio. I read somewhere that the gray is lamps?? Is that switched power or constant? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

When I installed my aftermarket radio I just connected it directly to the available pins on the fuse block. There was a battery (BAT) and a switched (ACC) pin available and I used fast-ons to plug the wires in. Did also need to find a good ground spot for the radio ground connection. Luckily I did not have any noise issues. My radio did not have a lamp connection and it just lit up when ACC was on and radio also turned on.

Hi, The Yellow is switched 12 Volts, the Gray is instrument lamps and Black is Ground. You'll need to do something like RedVette2 suggests for constant 12Volts as well.

Thank you for the tip. Haven't gotten back to it yet but will definitely go to the fuse block for the 12v constant. Much appreciated.

Joe
Thanks , the fuse block is where I'll look for 12v constant.
