Hi i just bought my boyfriend a custom auto sound radio to upgrade from the aftermarket one out in from the previous owner. I bought the 750 model? Has Bluetooth connectivity which we wanted.
anyway, after he took out the panel there is an alarm system installed really janky and there was a tuner **** installed in the driver side carpet for fade adjusting. I disconnected the **** and wires but I have no idea where to connect the yellow constant wire to (other videos I’ve watched show a connector including a black and Orange wire..?)
I’ll attach pictures, just trying to figure out which wire to use without messing the car up badly.
thanks! Driver side wiring with this red wire rigged in which connected to the previous radio (I assume constant hot wire connected to that orange wire?) Direct dashboard look of wiring. Passenger side wiring with rigged wiring to auto security system.
There should be a male stud labeled BAT ( on the fuse box under the dash), where you would push on a spade connector for constant positive 12 volts. You didn’t indicate what year Corvette, and so all the replies will be just uneducated guesses.

1979 sorry!! And post above, we did not disconnect the battery we were using a test light to find a constant hot wire with the car off

1979 is the year, I bought some 16g wire and connected it to the constant wire with a spade connector on the end but when looking at the fuse box this is what I see…there are 3 BAT slots, one having constant power but an orange wire is in it and connected to that slot. So I put it in that slot with the connector or one of the other bat slots? Orange wire with connector on it is in one bat slot, the other two bat slots are behind that yellow cylinder fuse

If you want that constant power wire to stay plugged into the BAT cell I suggest purchasing the correct tap connector set for those PAC-CON 1 terminals.
I know, +$20 and shipping but this will insure your constant power remains constant.
The yellow cylinder is a capacitor and is attached to your flasher relay, it's purpose was to remove the pop sound through your radios speakers each time the relay turned on & off...
There is possibly another similar cap tapped into your brake light circuit same purpose...
That Orange wire plugged into the fuse panel may have a Black tracer stripe on it, if so that is going to your Defogger Timer Relay. The relay could be in a couple different locations one of them is under the rear section of the padded arm rest of the center console.

I just saw another post similar to mine, there is already a wire from my negative battery terminal. I think I’ll go the wire and fuse route right to the battery. This turned out to be more complicated than I thought lol
