Default Removing headliner 75 hardtop

I want to remove the headliner in the hardtop for my 75. I know the side panels are bolted to the headliner but what keeps the headliner in place,is it the small 2 piece plastic snap jobbers and how do I get the headliner out without damaging it?

Pull down on it. Only attachment is Velcro connectors. All three pieces are connected, so detach all three carefully by prying one after the other.

You really need to be extra careful. The restoration headliners don’t fit all that well and you will be out around $ 600. I would use a long wooden flat paint stick, to detach the headliner at each Velcro holder. On my 73 the rear side panels can be separated from the main headliner. Remember the vinyl is old and extremely brittle. Go slow, you may want to use a hair dryer to warm up the old vinyl. Good Luck.

These panels can be recovered for a significant savings. $600+ is right.

Here is a pic from the underside for you to see where the fastening points are, they are not like todays velcro, very rigid and stiff.

you can see the covering and clip locations
