71 coupe electrical question

Not sure what the grey and purple wires go to? They are located at the front of the shift console, thanks!

Gray is usually instrument lights and purple is neutral safety switch

Hhmmm, it looks like everything is hooked up in this area. This is an original un cut wiring harness.

I’m guessing since my car is a manual shift the purple wire isn’t hooked up to anything? Still not seeing where the grey wire goes to?

I don’t but I like the format, would like to have had one from the start of rebuild. The assembly drawings labels the grey as console ground but it has a plug type fitting. Hhmmm?

The gray wire is the PRNDL light connector for an automatic. It would not be connected on a manual transmission car. The purple and purple with stripe connector is for the clutch switch on a manual transmission. I don't know if it is a duplicate connector, or routed wrong. For the manual transmission it should be over by the clutch pedal.
