this is a vented one , , it should still fit right , it fits on my 72?
I think that all '63 to '74 caps are interchangeable. They were marked VENTED up until 1970 at which point they were marked SEALED. In 1970 GM cars got the charcoal canisters to capture raw fuel vapors to eliminate it from escaping to atmosphere.

Correct, while there were some differences in appearance of some year caps, all 63-74 caps are interchangeable. The 63-67 convertible filler neck was also used as the filler neck for all 68-74 Corvettes (the 63-67 coupe neck is taller and was only used on C2 coupes).
If you have a cap marked "vented" you have the wrong cap, but it will still go on your 72.
Just to add one more detail on the cap recommendations. If the charcoal canister system is still in place and operational then the SEALED cap needs to be used. If the system is inoperable or non-existent, ensure the tank ports have been sealed off and use the VENTED cap.
Using the wrong cap can lead to excessive fuel vapor odors because the design of the system for each has been compromised.

Only California 70's had na9, (eec). My 2 70's both have sealed caps.

There's an other solution if you don't care about original system. On my 77 i cut the To canister hose and fix it behind the left rear wheel with a mini KN filtre. No fuel odor and a more simple stuff.
