Default exhaust ID/OD: questions

I've got a new set of Patriot side pipes (H1060)
I'm looking to understand better, what I need to connect to them.
They're spec'd as having a 2" inlet, but it doesn't measure at 2" for me, but I'm also not an expert..
I took accurate measurements today, and here's what I found for the ID(using ruler, and a digital caliper):

I just measured a 45 degree elbow for my exhaust , and it measures 2.25" on the inside of one end and 2.25" on the outside of the other +/- 10 thousand for easy slip on fit..

I think they sent the wrong ones. Double check the paperwork and description. I also bought an exhaust expansion tool at harbor freight for future issues .

Good luck.

Well, honestly, I’d be happy if they were anything north of 2 inches, since the collector is 3 inches.I’d rather mate up to larger than smaller in this case.Good idea on the harbor freight thing, I’ve got a big harbor freight right in town.Might not be a bad idea to have some exhaust tools handy

Exhaust tubing is always measured on the outside diameter. When I'm doing an exhaust from pieces and parts I take the parts as needed to a local muffler shop and have them sneak up on the slip fits. They don't charge me a nickel.

I think if you measure the inside of the tube, you will find it's 2 1/4". That way the next part will slip into that one if you are using 2 1/4" tubing.
