Default Anyone recognize this rubber pad?

Like a bonehead, I dropped something behind the rear quarter panel trim and it fell all the way down.To get to the item, I opened up the access panel inside the left rear wheel well that lets you get to the body/frame bolts and found my item, plus this rubber pad. I don't recognize it. It's a 68 coupe if that matters. The dimensions are about 2" along the bottom, 2 1/4" along the top, 3" along the left and right sides (Isosceles trapezoid for the math nerds), and it's about 7/8" thick. It's pretty soft and will compress about 1/4" with thumb pressure.
Is it even a car thing?

No- it's not my mouse pad!

They were stuffed inside the dog-leg. I assume to help with some noise transmission since that's a direct path to the wheel well, probably #10 (maybe)

These pics are from a ‘78, but match your description of size and soft consistency. The pad mostly blocks an opening from the body-mount cavity to the underside near the trailing arm pivot. Found a mouse nest doing body-mount inspections on a pocket with the pad missing. Looks like in addition to keeping mice out it would also block water from splashing into this cavity.

Thanks Mooser, I think you're right. I don't think that area is too accessible to get those back on. Who knows how long it's been at the bottom not doing its job.
