Default Headers or Stock Manifold

Looking at replacing the headers on my 74 BB. I'd like to put on a set that would actually last for the life of a stainless steel system. Basically have it the last system I put on the car. I have found a set of stainless for 799.99 that are warranted for life. I haven't been able to find a set of ceramic coated for it. If I did, would these last ? I love headers but am waaaay tired of them wearing out. Am almost ready to go back to a stock manifold but that would truly HURT. Any comments, thoughts, ideas, ponderings would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Scott

Contact Jet Hot headers. I have had mine for 5 years and they still look like the day I got them. They have already coated headers or they can coat your headers. If yours are not to bad they can bring them back to like new. I think it is http://www.jet-hot.com

I 2nd the Jet-Hot idea. They can strip and coat your headers. As long as your headers have good welds (not rusted beyond use), they can make the headers like new.

I'd actually recommend a fresh set of headers (Heddman, Hooker, etc.) and have them coated considering the price difference and fact that you will have to pay shipping to send your headers to them (packaging and shipping to send your headers to Jet-Hot is close to the price of a fresh set of headers before coating).

I agree Jet-Hot is the way to go. I have a quote from them for $609 on the Hooker Super Comp. They come in a Sterling finish. Someday said they offer 10 percent discount for CF members, but I am not sure about that.

I have a chance to pick up a set of Hooker Super Comps for my SB car for $60. They have never been on a car, just collecting dust for years so they have some surface rust. Good/bad/ugly deal?

I have a set of 1 7/8 supercomps that I sent out to Jet Hot to be coated, I think it was 300 for them to be coated. Would deffinitly do it again, they look great and they are extremely low maintenance to keep clean and shiny, looks like they will last forever.

I have the Hedman coated headers on my '77, they did decrease underhood and interior greatly, but I wouldn't recommend them as the finish is starting to discolor :mad :cuss . But for the $255 I paid for them they're not too bad. If I had to do it all over again, I'd save my money a little longer, and get a set of Hooker Jet-Hot coated headers :yesnod:

Thanks for all of the help guys. Am going to look into JetHot with Hookers or Dynomax. I couldn't get the wallet to creak open far enough for the stainless.
