72 350 4 speed mini starter ?
I am trying to replace my original gm starter with a mini starter.The car has headers and the starter is a real bear to take out.After searching forums I thought the AcDelco 337-1022 mini with the staggered bolt pattern would fit with no shims necessary.This starter gets hung up in the opening of the bell housing inspection plate.This starter has an aluminum nose cone.I guess maybe it would work with an auto trans.???I would like to find a direct fit Delco mini if possible.Any and all help is appreciated.

I had a similar issue, I bought this on Amazon. Went straight in with no shims and works great

My car had a mini starter when I bought it. After 20 some years it needed to be replaced. I bought 2 that didn't work and some one recommended this starter to me on Amazon. It has 3 different clocking positions, I clocked it to clear the oil pan and went right in no problem.
