Default Help with borgenson upgrade

Doing the Borgenson install. Little confused on setup. To the left I have 1.25 to lock and to the right I have 1.75 to lock. How do I get it to 1.5 on both sides? Box hooked up to rag joint. Pitman arm not installed yet

You need to disconnect the rag joint from the steering column. And rotate the steering wheel so both the steering wheel and the Borgeson unit are centered. The Borgeson rag joint will not line up with the flats on the steering column the same way the stock one did. Also check the pinchbolts on the steering column after a few hours of use. I've installed Borgeson on two different cars and both times they loosened up after a little bit and had to be retightened.

Steering wheel is straight. Rag joint slides on only one way on steering shaft and steering box. Not sure How I can center it anymore. Undo it and spin the box and align pin in the opposite slot?

Well now I can't remember exactly. It's possible I used the old upper rag joint part on the steering column side instead of the Borg one on my 72. I know I used the whole Borgeson rag joint on my 71. Both times the steering was a little bit off center at first and was able to rotate the rag joint a few splines to get everything centered correctly. First time with a 71 was much easier since the engine was not in the car at the time. A lot more challenging with a 72 with the engine installed

I used the old upper part too. The Borgeson was so tight it wouldn't slip onto the column splines very well. Not installed yet though..,

I also put lock washers and blue loctite on the bolts.

Funny I got to thinking and looking at the factory upper rag joint connection that slips on the spline vs the Borgenson. I wound up using the factory upper rag joint connection instead of the Borgenson. Right on the money.

So tip at least for an 80, use the factory connection on the steering shaft. Last thing to do is the lines.

Which port on the Box is High pressure? Low pressure line seems a little short...Figured it out. Hose too short. Trip to Parts store.

Yes the low pressure line is kind of awkward the way it curves around. There was another thread a while ago that I followed that used the stainless steel elbow from the old line. It gets cut off just after the bend and the low pressure line gets clamped to it with a hose clamp. It eliminates the kink in the rubber hose

Struggling for an hour to get the low pressure line to thread into box. High pressure no problem. I don't get why this has to be so difficult...

Ordered these as suggested. Not worth cross threading and screwing it up. Can't get the right angle to thread fitting, line has a 90* that runs to close to the box.https://www.summitracing.com/parts/c...ol?seid=srese2

Pictures of the top stick rag joint mounted to the Borgeson bottom. If you are interested.

Also. For what it's worth. I used different AN fittings instead of the brass fittings in the kit. Lots of ppl indicated they had issues with the brass fittings leaking.

Yes I ordered as indicated above. After an hour I could not get the low pressure fitting to thread into the box. The angle is deterred. Very frustrating. Plus it's 90* outside.
