I have read some threads on here and not really seeing what I want. My cars rear end started going to the side when I would accelerate. Come to find out the poly bushings that the previous owner installed in 2010 are all but crumbled pieces. I do not know what brand they are, he had the trailing are rebuilt by Vtech Vette in 2010 when doing a frame off restoration. Sounds like some bad material was put out around that time. My question is, can I just buy the poly bushing replacement pcs? I see a tool required for flaring, but is that just for rubber ones? Are all the poly bushing interchangeable with each other. Sounds like it might not be too bad of a job if I pull the arm and just place in bushings in place.
MANY, as in thousands, jumped on that train the past 20 years. For the past several years reports are coming in of the poly bushing breaking down and falling out. Most rebuilders and owners had access to them, some still use them. The only ones that I have not seen do that are the poly bushings used in Tom's offset arms, they are not brittle like the others, but also are not a direct replacement for stock arms such as the ones you have.
Get quality rubber bushings. I don't name suppliers since that seems to bite me at times, but a good rubber bushing and alignment should resolve your issue. Yes, you need to compress, hold, and stake them in place- unlike the poly ones.

The only luck I had is with Prothan Brand poly for the rear trailing arms.
I forgot the year I installed these. 2012 ? 2013.
Here is a picture when I ungraded to ridetech coilovers in 2019. Not sure if today's bushings are the same quality as those I purchased in 2012-2013. Many Track days on those trailing arms.
My VB&P dual mount spring cushions both front & rear have also crumbled. will be making new pieces out of Delrin as soon as I get the car on the lift.
Van Steel has stepped in for replacement pieces for this for those who don't have access to machines to fabricate themselves.
I run Energy suspension brand poly in Numerous places in my car. But NOT my trailing arm bushings. These bushings don't just rotate like a front control arm bushing. They twist and rotate.
For any kind of street use. Rubber in this important bushing.
Bairs corvette is where I would look.
And yes you will need the staking tool.
