It's really not possible to remove the power brake booster on a '69 is it?
I cannot access the upper left bolt under the dash. So far I have removed the steering column, upper and lower dash pads and I still can't hardly get a glimpse of that little F'r. I have read post and watched YouTubes were its been done. I think most, if not all of the successes have been on automatic cars. My car is a manual. Maybe I need to remove the clutch pedal assembly???
Any sympathy would be appreciated.
Remove the seat, put down a folded blanket for padding, and lay on your back. Use a combination of long sockets, long ratchet extensions, swivel, etc.
The hardest part was getting back out of the car after 15 minutes on my back.
Automatic so....
A set of extensions. IIRC only needed the swivel (with a balloon sleeve over it) for the top inside one and a wobble end extension was good enough for the others.
(then went hydroboost and installed studs into the engine bay so I'll not have that problem anymore)

Too funny!
I tried the other day to remove the booster on my 69 also.
got all the bolts out but one.
I thought the same thing! Damn near impossible!
Ive got one bolt left!
I do have the seat out. I spent a day on just trying to access that bugger. I'm not one to give up. I think I'll take the body off the frame next and see if that helps.
If I remember correctly I removed the seat, steering column and used an open end/box end wrench.
It took a while but I got it done.
My radio was already out.
I've heard lots of folks say the booster is one of the hardest jobs on the c3 vettes. I dunno i just dont get it? i changed one on my 68 auto in probably 20 min. my 4 speed was a bit more challenging but nothing crazy.
different length extensions, swivel sockets, and a fine tooth ratchet worked for me. i didnt remove anything
77 auto car here. Took out the seat and left the column alone. I was able to get to that bolt with a short stubby ratchet and a deep socket. Didnt really have the room for a universal.
I used the original clip again, didnt like the look of the new repro.
