Default Door jamb switch wiring

Hi All - first post since I bought my 1970 in Feb. 2022 and now need some help! There are 2 white wires in the kick panels with metal clips on the ends - only one is attached to the door jamb (courtesy light) switch on each side. The courtesy lights work so obviously I know what those white wires do. But what is the second white wire for? "Door Ajar" warning light or car alarm system? It has a key hole in the rear between the tail lights so I think that is for an alarm system? So I'm thinking that's what the second white wire is for. The door jamb switch does have 2 posts to attach 2 wires. Thanks for any input!!

The keyhole in the rear is indeed for the alarm system. The triggers for that system at the doors are in the jam, not at the hinge. not sure what the extra white wire is for, been so long since I have been in that area, can't remember.

The white wire is for your inside lights
