Default New power steering valve

First time asking for help here. Just replaced the steering valve on my 78. This is the second one I have put on this car. The first one lasted for 2 years then it started to leak from the stud on top of the valve. It was a rebuilt unit. All of the fluid ran out just sitting there. Before it bled out, the steering was kind of loose for lack of a better term. I installed the new one with no problem. Made sure all the air was out of the system as per the install instructions and was filled to the correct line on the dip stick. So far, no leaks. My only concern is that it seems like the steering is a little stiff. It's consistent from lock to lock. Its still easier the manual steering, just takes more effort than the old one did. It feels like the GM "High Effort" steering that was in my 73 Trans Am. The entire front end has been rebuilt so that's not the problem. Is this normal? Am I paranoid? Who designed the steering on this car anyway?? Let me know what you think and thanks.

It is easier to show you than to explain how to adjust the PS valve...

Hope this solves your problem...

Thanks for the video! That is exactly how I installed the new valve. Maybe I'm not used to the steering being a little tight and maybe with some use, it will loosen up! Wish me luck and thanks again!!

there seems to be a lot of high heat lately on fluid.. some say valve.. and or balancing of valve.
can you measure your power steering fluid temperature after a 10 min?
do you have the original valve still?

A word of caution when greasing the valve...Don't overdue it. Pumping too much grease into it can blow the seals which, of course, will cause leaks. Ask me how I know.

When my nephew drove the Vette for the first time he said he'd never driven a car with manual steering before.

It has P/S...
