Hello everyone. I am going to replace my ignition coil and have a question. My car is a 1969 with the stock 350 engine, 4 spd. Is it best to purchase a stock ac delco coil or should I get one from Zip or one of the other aftermarket suppliers? Thanks in advance.

Why are you replacing the coil to start with? You can buy a stock type coil at any parts store. NAPA has Echlin.

Standard Motor Products Blue Streak UC12X icoil s a quality coil made in Poland.......UC12 coil is made in China if that matters to you. Have been running the UC12X coils in my 65 GTO and in my carbed 84 C4 for over 10 years with no problems.
Unless you are looking for an original sort of look using a repro, just go with an over-the-counter coil from NAPA or other local auto parts store. I have an NGK (via NAPA) on my '67; it's black and appears stock under the shielding. As others have mentioned, test the current coil before replacing – they don't go bad that often. If you do replace it, make sure you get the proper type regarding external ballast resistor or not.
You need to be sure that your Corvette has the traditional points ignition before buying the coil. If your car came with the transistorized ignition it requires a special coil. If you are not sure pulling the distributor cap will tell you right away as the T.I. system has a pick up and no points.
I have been a long time MSD customer but have had a rash of coil failures in the past few years. I keep the coil in the original mounting bracket and the tech support at MSD said my failures are likely due to heat and/or vibration. Then they suggest that you buy one of their $200+ coils to avoid the problems.
I bought a very nice, brand new NOS Delco coil for my 69.....but now I sold the project, See C3 Parts for Sale thread....I have a genuine NOS Delco Coil.......would be good for you.

Just for discussion's sake, make sure the coil sits about 1/4" above the intake surface to maintain an air gap for heat insulation.
