81-82 oil temp sensor interchangeable/replacement?

I ordered an oil temp gauge with sender for my 78. I looked online for replacement senders and they are $100+ for the sensor!? I want to run two senders on a switch to monitor oil and trans temp. Is there a cheaper sensor with the same ohm range? I found the standard part number but it’s still $100+. I won’t pay that bc a whole new gauge and sensor is cheaper than that.

You checked with the gauge and sender supplier if they can sell just the matching sender? You can only use a sender that has the same ohm range as the one you already have.

yes the senders are dumb expensive. I don’t have specs on ohm readings to find a replacement. They range from $100-230 and im not paying that.
