Hi
I'm attempting to remove the cable. I need some help on the removal from the dash. I have it loose and can't feel how to remove the cable lock from the speedometer.

To remove the speedo or tach cables from the dash, you have to push the retaining ring in, while pulling the cable out.
A couple of ways you can try this...
I prefer to remove the passenger side dash (to get to one dash pad screw), remove the dash pad, and then pull the the gage cluster loose.
Doing it this way, you don't have to drop the steering column, and I think it is easier to see and feel what you are doing.
But you can try to do everything from underneath...skinny people with tiny hands can probably do it.
Now the secret to installing the new cables is that the speedo and the tach cables MUST be OVER the round brace rod.
If you see videos where they push and cuss and the dash still wont go back in place...This is why...
