cool. im going to keep that in mind. alstate sucks. at least my plan with them does.
I have my daily driver insured with ALLSTATE... and they increased the rate to $647.22 for state minimum coverage... I will change to another insurance...
'79ProwlerOrange, I use American Family (I know they are in CO) and have an awesome plan for non classic insurance for the vette. Awesome to deal with and great rates. Migt be worth a look till 2004.
the sad thing is my blazer is more expensive to insure than my vette. its a '94 S-10 blazer 4x4. so its 4 wheel drive and im under 25. no accidents, and i think only one ticket they picked up on. the thing that gets me is its double monthly to insure the blazer, but the vette is going to cost 4 time as much to replace. not exagerating. both are under full coverage BTW.
im going to check into American Family though. if your happy with them theres a chance i will be too.

The cost difference is based not on what it will cost you to replace the vette, but what the insurance company believes the vette is going to cost to replace.
yea i know. thats the scary thing about it. since i havent had it appraised recntly i know they would try and give me the purchase price if it were totaled (knocking on wood.) so i would only get about 1/3 of what ive put into it/ whats its worth. im almost dead even according to NADA.
Glad to hear that Haggerty done well by you, but I am curious if they questioned you as to where you were driving the Vette to at the time of the accident. Did you tell them you were on the way to a show or what???

Well - I told them that I was taking my gf out to a Restaurant on the weekend (which was actually true). You can use your car for limited pleasure driving... You would have a problem if you hit someone at a Publix parking lot...or if you are on the way to work with it...

The good thing about Hagerty is their "agreed value" policy...
I've had Hagerty for years. Thank goodness I haven't had any claims, but whenever I cal or e mail them, there customer service and response time has been top notch!
If you meet their requirements, I think they can't be beat.

Oliver,
Glad things went quickly :yesnod: That's one less thing to worry about. :hurray:
Prowler Orange,
I've had State Farm since 1981. I think they're a pretty good insurance carrier. I have them for my vehicles (three), boatand home owners insurance.
I've had claims for vandalism ( repainted my '72 Monte Carlo after being "egged") , front of van painted from another egging, a windshield replaced in my Park Ave on my auto policy.
On my homeowners I've had a section of roof replaced after a major storm and had my hot tub rewired and completely rebuilt after a voltage surge.
None of these incidents had any influence on my premiums. I've also been with them long enough that I get one "free" accident ( doesn't count against me)

My policy is not going to increase too... Anyway - they are going to charge the other insurance...
My girlfriend has StateFarm and she's very happy with them so far...
Hagerty handled my claim in December as well...excellent, fast service. They cut me a check the same day I emailed them the estimate and pictures. No complaints here!
