Hey guys, I've got some lazy power windows, the drivers side being the worst. They still work, but they sound like they're on the last legs. Since the engine and trans is out and I'm waiting for the machine shop to get it done I've decided to do the stuff I've been putting off.
I've googled it, and YouTube has some videos but most of them are painful to watch, is there a decent step by step?
Also, any suggestion on which one to get? I was checking NPD and corvettedepot (They're local, it's handy,) but there's two options, a plastic housing and a metal, both the same price.
Before you buy new ones you might try taking everything apart and cleaning the old grease out of eveything. Inspect all the rollers to see if they are actually rolling. And make sure you have a good ground wire to each motor. Before you take it apart mark where each of the bolts are located on the door. Either draw a circle around each one or just get a contrasting color of paint and spray the areas. The purpose is to mark where the tracks get located when you put it all back together. That step will save you HOURS of readjsting the windows. This is something you should do if replacing the motors/regulators anyway but if you do it first you might save yourself 5he cost of the motors/regulators. I kept my motor ON MY 78 but replaced rollers and regulators that I got from ZIP.

I'll do this as well, the drivers side has a grinding noise when I hit the switch, also I think they need some realignment after the new seals went in.
