Don't ask me what the white paint is, he did side work for NASCAR and said it's been on there 20 years. It minimized oxidation and heat but it's hideous. Maybe it used to be grey, who knows. I would like to replace them or maybe get them re-coated if that's a cost effective option. I can't seem to match them to anything exactly available.
Is the finish a kinda rough sandpapery finish?

Yes. .I was hoping I could find replacements that will bolt right on and have them ceramic coated . It's a good design, spark plugs easy to get to. Looks like they have been discontinued. Not sure if these can be stripped easily and ceramic coated.
