Every time I open the drivers door, I get a buzzer that won't stop until I close it again. It's a slightly different tenor than the buzzer that nags me to put my seat belt on. Any ideas on how I can get rid of this open door buzzer? Was this standard from the factory? I have a '73 coupe.
thanks

No that is not standard from the factory. That buzzer should only sound if the key is in the ignition. The front jamb switch controls this. Problem might not be in the switch since the buzzer goes off when the door is closed. Could be something in the ignition switch. Double check the wires coming off the back of the switch as well. You could just disconnect the wires from the switch to quiet the buzzer, but you’d also lose your footwell and rear compartment lighting.
Others may chime in I’m sure with suggestions.
