I am going to replace the rear wheel bearings on my '68. I dont have the proper tools or the expertise to do this at home so I called a local shop that works on Corvettes. He said he can do it but there is also a company that sells the rear hubs with the new bearings and you just exchange yours. Does anyone know who does this?
I haven't had rear bearings done but Bairs Corvettes. As I do have the tools and expertise. But I have had several business dealings with them. Absolutely top shelf customer service. And top quality parts.
Bair's will do a GREAT job. They will also rivet your rotors. This has come back to bite me after breaking two studs.
The trailing arms are otherwise great, they even moved the parking brake bracket when I asked. I just wish I had made provisions for bolting the rotors to the hubs before I sent them the parts.

why support corporate big businesses. Support you local small businesses. Gary GTR 999 first comes to mind better than any mass produced vendor .
Van Steel did both of my Trailing Arm assemblies and even they will rivet the rotor on for you.
Both T/A's came back better than new and they used to advertise that they came with a "Million-Mile Warranty" when you had Van Steel do the rebuild. The workmanship was awesome and the parts are still accumulating miles decades later.
Getting the T/A's off was certainly harder than putting them back on the Corvette. Thank goodness for a Saw-zall and long blades or I would still be at it...
Summit racing has loaded van steel bearing supports all shimmed , I bought a set and new spindles , all you need is a cheap tool to pull the spindles through the hub/ bearings , you will have to beat the old spindles out to get the backing plates if you reuse them.
