In the process of getting everything together for a 5.3 LM7 swap have a 4L60 ready and tore down the engine just to make sure what would be a good/decent cam up grade don’t want to rework the heads or springs

Compression is about 9.5:1 stock on those. The heads are a bottleneck in stock form regardless if they are the 862 or 706 castings. I’d look at minor porting and upgrading the intake valves from the 1.89 to the 2.00 LS valve. Later 5.3 motors run the standard 2.00/1.55 valve sizes.
Also some of the castings actually leak coolant into the oiling system. If you have heads cast by Castech I’d junk them. Not worth it IMO
As for not wanting to do springs, then leave the OE cam in it. Even the LS1 hotcam (which has probably the mildest lobes of any aftermarket cam) requires a spring upgrade. Do it once, do it right.
Valve springs are pretty easy to do, and cheap. Do the valve seals at the same time (even cheaper!). You'll want to clean the heads and lap the valves anyway.
