My 73 has very low airflow in all positions on the wheel. There is a C4 conversion fan and a new vacuum device in the air bland door. You can hear and feel the fan running at low to high speeds, just very low flow from the dash vents. You can push the air bland door open with a screwdriver with no change. A mechanic said he thinks there is a problem the vacuum wheel in the console being plugged. I can not see what that would affect the flow in the vents. Ideas needed at to what to look at. Thx.
Pull the high coil resistor out of the top A/C box and stick a boroscope down there to inspect the evaporator......this is a dumping ground for 40+ years of leaves and debris......it can cut the flow through the evap by about half in some cases.....
Dirt and debris like Jebby said , I have two 1980 L82's with one low mile garage kept S Carolina car while the other was a driver from Cincinnati Ohio miles turned over , South Carolina low miler air flow is fabulous while the Cincinnati high miler's air flow is slow and low , though I haven't got to it yet I'm pretty sure the dirt and debris is more the culprit the motor lacking
