My engine is about to be reassembled and I am not sure what I want to paint. I have already decided to paint it yellow, but do I paint the heads and intake? I have ZZ4 Aluminum heads and an Edelbrock Performer Aluminum intake. What do you guys think? Too much yellow, should I paint them black? I will be putting on chrome valve covers, and the stock air cleaner (black) with a chrome base.

I personally like the combination of paint and aluminum natural or polished, but a monochromatic paint theme can be  thumb thru some rod mags and see what lights your candle

Aluminum heads on a yellow block would be  .

Of course do want you want and makes you happy but I also like the combo of painted block and aluminum parts. To me, painting everything looks cheap...unless it is done REALLY well by a professional painter. Some of those engines with the matching body color paint can also be really cool. Either way you decide, just go with it and don't look back. :D

IMO, polish the aluminum parts. Aluminum looks soooo good, never cover with paint. You may want to look into the new Zoops product for an invisible coating you can apply to aluminum parts to keep them from oxidizing. The magazine reviews indicate the product works well and won't yellow like clear paint. I'd have to have to repolish heads and an intake every 60 days.

I WOULD GO ALUMINUM. My truck has a yellow painted intake and if you get a coolant leak or anything like that it discolors. Looks great at first but I think alum will be easier to maintain and look great too :D
