Tach/Speedo backs rust removal

Is there an easy way to remove the rust from the metal cans, or is it best to wet blast them. Thanks.

Some liquid rust removers will leave a phosphate finish which is somewhat rust resistant.
On my list of things to do to my '69, this would be about #10k.

I put on some rubber gloves, grabbed a some Scotch Brite pads and some CLR. Took care not to damage the factory labels, then sprayed with Boeseal.

Not sure what you are trying to remove but i would use evaporust above 70f and soak..

I masked all the inside off and blasted mine with a fine glass-bead but I was painting them afterwards so I didn't care about the finish being original or anything.
