to save space on the new fuse box, I want to replace the two indicator relays with one, do you have an idea of what I should put knowing that I put LED lights?
Here is a photo of my flashing units Thank you so much
The 4 way flashers are wired on a completely different circuit than the turn signals.
I'm pretty certain your blowing smoke up your own ****. Not to mention that one flasher can isn't even located on the fuse panel.
And if super unreliable LED's are your thing even thou your car was designed to run incandescent bulbs.
Best of luck to you.
Now you tell us. That information should have been in your first post. You have a 82.
LOTS of things are different on a 82!
None the less, you can see by the schematic that YOU posted up. 2 different circuits. No possible way to only run one flasher.
Your turn signal flasher goes through the signal switch, which also has the brake lights going through it. The 4 way flasher is on a separate switch. Which then puts power into all the signal wires downstream.
Yes I am certain. Do you think GM just added another flasher can because they wanted the build cost to go up? Thus reducing their profits?
Danny, wish I could be more helpful. Please keep in mind 2 things.
one, everytime someone trys to take a short cut with wiring, and I mean everytime, it ends up badly.
there is a reason the 4 way flashers and the turn signals are on separate fuses and seperate circuits.
And two. I did look in your profile before I answered you to get info on your car. You haven't filled in any information on your car so I was shooting in the dark so to speak.
the wiring in my 77 is vastly different from a earlier C3 and vastly different from your 82. Which by the way is in a league of it's own.
These cars were built for 14 years. A lot of things changed.
the rear lights were purchased from a US parts specialist, the lights are a night light stop flashing assembly
I have custom tail lights as well. As I live in Australia and they have strange lighting laws.
None the less, I made mine.
I'm glad your happy with those. Not thinking there my taste. But that's OK. I wouldn't want you copying me!
Still, don't take short cuts with wiring.
Be safe.
Good plan Danny, I do believe it's the right thing to do.
here's my answer to the need for amber turn signals.
They are wired so the signals are also the back up lights.
These use standard incandescent bulbs so nothing needed to be changed. 2 sockets per assembly, with a divider inside, thus 4 tail lights, 4 brake lights, and back up lights through the signal switch in place of the brake lights. Simple. Legal. Works.
