Installing a Performer Manifold. Gasket question
When you install a Q-Jet on a Performer manifold do you use the thick stock carb gasket or something else. I'm pretty sure you use the thick one because it's a heat insulator but I'd like to make sure.

Thick or thin I dont think it really matters. Sometimes a thicker gasket can be used to help with clearence problems between manifold and linkage. Most important of all is making sure the gasket actually matches. Invert the carb and double check that the gasket will seal off the throttle bores and vacuum passages. Also check it against the manifold.

Thanks guys, I think I'll use the thick stock type gasket. I was more worried about the linkage on the divorced choke being the right length than boiling the carb. I got the Edelbroke linkage for the choke so I'm assuming they set it up for a Q-Jet.

Hmmm women or XKE's. I think XKE's are less trouble except for the electronics (Lucas Electronics, the company that invented darkness).
