So with all the machine shops in my area taking a year or more to address my poor low milage 496 I decided to just go crate.
It arrived today and I got my 1st look. The pancake LS6 will swap over and I got a new Champ pan that I know fits. I'll get my Forged 496 to a machine shop to have it refreshed then sell it.
502's are great because they have that big bore....4.470...
We used to build a lot of 509's years ago because they would scream......stupid RPM......
That is a very nice dyno graph.....that will be a rip to drive.....be careful!!! LOL!
Changed the oil and a large blob of iron was on the oil plug. Dropped the pan and pulled on cap. It still runs great but a few people think there was an oil issue at some point. Considering all the hell I've been though after my wife dropped a shovel on the back deck. Body shop took 2,5 years to mostly complete the job. Pulled the car from them to find it has been sitting outside, fuel turned to jello, but they kept trying to start it before they returned it to me. Had to replace the tank, clean the lines are rebuild my brand new Quick Fuel.
