Hi all.
I've recently purchases a '74 coupe 350 A/T. The guy that sold it had a jumper wire to bypass the passenger side seat belt safety. When you started the car the solenoid would stay engaged. I pulled the jumper wire and put the relay back in. Now the car starts and runs great. The solenoid retracts as it should. However, the car doesn't actually start until you let off the key.
Anyone have any ideas on what's going on here?
Thank you

You might want to look at the ignition switch at the bottom of the steering column.
It could be out of adjustment or a poor connection.at one of the plugs.
