82 AC Compressor Vibration - It's getting bad!
My AC Compressor and Belt are vibrating really bad when the engine is running. I put new Gates belts on it, and ever since then the AC Compressor belt has been vibrating, making the whole car shake. I made sure it was tight, and everything looks to be lined up. Any ideas what could be wrong here? I'm about to cut the belt off! :cuss

Mine was starting to vibrate last year, when you say its tight, I thought mine was too.
Try tightening it till you think its going to break, what I noticed was that the tighter I did it, the less it vibrated....Hope this helps...

Check your mounting brackets. I had the one that goes from the top/back of the compressor to the exhaust manifold, crack and it enabled the compressor to move quite a bit.
