Hi Everyone, I have some minor painting to do on the body of my car (69 - CanAm white) and would like to know your advice where to source a good paint ? thanks
You are in Paris France and you are asking here? For very minor chips, try Dr Color Chip. If your car has original paint you are in good shape as the paint was lacquer. If it has been repainted you have some work to do to know what's on it.
In America there are automotive paint stores that have electronic cameras that will read the actual paint color, then tell the computer what paint colors/quantities to use. The one I used in America is called Sherwin-Willams Automotive Paints, and my paint color was spot on.
thank you !....indeed I'm French but much more & good information on this forum.
in fact I have small parts to re-paint. the car was totally rebuilt in 2008 and don't know how it was repaint honestly but I suspect as close as the original.
I would take the car to a body shop you trust and see what they say paint type and matching.
I help at a local body shop a couple days a week. The use PPG products. They just got a new paint measuring computer and paint measuring camera. They are very happy with it. Much more accurate mixing paint to match old paint.
