Default horn contact brush

Switched to a tilt/tele column. the contact brush doesn't reach the foot of horn contact. Is the brush longer on a tilt/tele than a regular column?

I'm not sure about the brush, but I know that the horn contact assembly is different between the tilt/telescopic and non-tilt/telescopic. If you are trying to use the old horn contact then that might be your problem.

I don't quite follow. I installed new horn parts after christmas to get mine to work again. I think what you are missing is the spring with the cylinder on it to make it stick out a bit more so when you mush on the horn it make contact with that. Some have used the spring in a pen to do the job. Look at some catalogs and either buy a new horn assembly for a tilt/tele (~$40) or see how it goes together and make your own.
