Default C3 Convertible Top Fitment Problem

The windshield top frame was replaced with one from a coupe years ago. Glass fits perfect but top doesn't sit flush like it used to and seems to have a gap in the middle (excess curvature compared to top frame). Is it sitting too far back or wrong angle? Assembly manual is pretty vague on this.

would suspect the convertible top frame before the windshield frame. See if you can compare the parts with another convertible.

Can’t you adjust the center and right side clamp to close that gap?

It does appear to sit back a bit compared to my '69. The round vinyl trim piece looks to extend more forward on the end than in the middle. Perhaps it could be reposioned forward in the center to look better? It still wouldn't be "right", but may look better.

My old pictures before the top and header were done show the top much more flush all along the edge. Glass fit tight front to a pillar and back to top frame so not sure if can move forward 1/2 in. My old pictures of car with top up are from 1986 and not great quality. If you have a picture of your top and how it sits that would useful. tx

When you do remember not to over tighten those bolts where you adjust it.
