Anybody know a good way to get a kink out of a cable?

Gotta ask how it got kinked in the first place. Is the door jamming ?
the cables themselves are pretty cheap and as far as the heater box goes you can buy rebuild kits for that to replace all the seals and get it working as it should. I replaced my heater core and did all that with it. It wasn’t hard but to do it right it was involved. Definitely worth it though.

That’s how it was when I got it in September nothing to do with the heater box. It’s the vent by your feet. Apparently a mouse is trying to build a home in there, Vacuum cleaner, and some mothballs to stop further construction!

IIRC There should be a push on retainer clip on the opposite side of that lever than what you show in the picture. You'll need to use a small screwdriver to sort of work it off of the stud that the wire is wrapped around.
