77 expansion tank

I was under the hood of my recently purchased 77 and was eyeballing the work needed to install a new aluminum rad. I quickly realized that I have no expansion tank??? I guess I have to ask this first, is it suppoesed to have one? :bb I have never seen a car without one, but I thought i'd ask before I went out and bought one. Also, I see no free space to mount one. Is there some kind of bracket I need to mount one? If someone has a pic that would be great.

Yes...your 77 should have a coolant recovery tank. See what they did with the hose that ran from the radiator to the tank.

The coolant recovery tank goes on the right side under the fender. There are 2 for 77- early & late. The late one is preferred.
