I have a 79. I’ve been working on fixing a lot of the electrical components and now I have been working on the radio. This car has sat for 15 years. It was in my grandfather‘s garage when it caught on fire 5 years ago. I replaced the fuse, and before I did that it didn’t have power. Now it has power but makes a weird sound especially when the engine is on. You can hear how blown it sounds on the video attached. What should I fix or check? Thank you for any help ahead of time!

Your video didn’t seem to attach to your post, but I would check the speakers. It’s very likely if they’re original they would be deteriorated. After that I would check your ignition shielding. The current running through the spark plug wire can generate a signal that will interfere with radio waves.

That sounds like bad speakers to me (audio guy since 1968!). The paper the old speakers were made from has just fallen apart from old age. You can check that buy just pulling out one or more. There are YT videos on how to do that. If it's an original radio be sure to get 10 ohm replacement speakers, don't use the modern 4 ohm ones.
