69 hood alignment

69 hood alignment
Just wondering if anybody tried this, unbolt the latches from the firewall latch them into the hood, close the hood and pull the release cable open the hood bolt down the latch, Ideas, suggestions? Comments thanks in advance Happy Saturday

I made up one of the alignment plugs and wasn't quite happy with the results so did this and it worked perfectly
Dot stickers from the dollar store, sat it sticky side up on the center of the pin
Brought the hood down to touch and then made adjustments as needed to center it
It's also important to note that it needs to be centered to the non-movable part of the latch.. not the movable part.
Tie a string on the latch as a safety backup until you're sure it's working
