And my first question. I can not get the drive shaft yoke to go all the way in the transmission. I noticed one of the splines in the yoke is missing. Is the a reason for this? Is there something I have to align it, to get the yoke to go all the way in? I don't want to pull the newly rebuilt transmission out .
I had a Mustang transmission rebuilt with all new Ford parts and the rear bearing was undersized. The transmission service owner said that was the first time in 20 years a factory part was wrong. Should have learned my lesson and tried the yoke before I installed the transmission in the vette.
i just checked my old turbo 400, it slips in all positions, and i did a muncie last weekend and same thing there ,slid right on in any position.you said it slides on some but not all the way in,how far does it go on?
The yoke will slip in about an inch. Then it hits a solid stop. Hate the idea of removing the new rear seal just to check were the yoke is hitting. or even worse removing the transmission after I got all the wiring and cables connected
