Default 1969 Rocker Panel Question

I need to buy a set of rocker panels (upper and lower) for my 69. Is the rocker on a 1969 made out of fiberglass or is it aluminum and where is the best place to pickup the enitre set at? I have hooker sides so I know I will need to trim them a little and I would think that aluminum would be better than fiberglass that close to the headers. What are all of you other guys doing?

The 68/69 rockers are two-piece assemblies with a fiberglass lower piece that is painted gloss black and a thin aluminum trim strip that mounts over it and covers the mounting holes. Between the two parts, they are almost $200 per side! If you have Hooker sidepipes, I'd try to find some nice used later AL ones that should be much cheaper. You can leave them aluminum or paint them the black to look original; it won't matter since they are behind the sidepipes. I'm doing this since I want to preserve my original rare 69 ones.

I have the lower fiberglas parts, new GM in the box (well, the tore up old box) that I would consider selling to a fellow member at a fair discount. They came with my car, but it's a sidepipe car and I'll never use them. I am going to make a polished 1 1/4" aluminum strip that mounts to the original holes behind the sidepipes. My sidepipes (home made) fit up tight to the frame and only leave a narrow part of frame and lower body showing.
