Forum: Getting ready to pull the trigger on some C5 seats.
I'm planning on sheepskin seat covers. I put them on all our cars.
There was an excellent Thread on what fit and what didn't.
I tried to use the search, but it was useless.
Any help out there?

you have to pull the motors and use the original seat tracks...earlier years require an adapter, later years just need new holes drilled in the seat frame. You can rewire and use the back and side bolster inflators. They do sit and inch higher than the stock seats so you will be sitting a little higher

I've seen it in a car already so it can be done.

I thought I read that the c6 seats were the best to use? I guess I’m following this thread too!!! 😉😂

Most of the seats for sale are 97 to 04.
I'm willing to drive a few miles.

I sure don't know about that sheepskin thing though. I am tempted to say ..... no I won't do it, somebody will though.

Hmm , looks like they were made for the car. Did you buy seats in good condition and have reupholstered?

I know you said C5's but I put a set of late model C4's in my 78 and there is plenty of headroom. All I did was use 2 pieces of flat stock as an adapter bolted on top of the C3 seat brackets.

I bought them a few years ago. They were OK. The drivers side left lumbar foam needed repair and I did the bottom swap so the repair is on the passenger side now. I used Mr. Mikes covers and did the work myself.

These are 97-2004. They look good,
They come from Mid-America and can be returned.
$1,449 seems a little steep, but shipping is free.
I planned on Sheepskin seat covers.
All our cars have them!

Go over to the C5 fourm,, there are guys ditching the ' not so comfortable ' C5 seats for other options. I'm shure you could find a better deal. My wife has a C5, I say the seats could be more comfortable. I have stock seats in my C3 and I think they are better and more comfortable. Just my preference tho,,,,,

I found some C6 seats for about the same price as C5 seats.
Would the C6 seats be a better fit?

What needs to be done to do the swap with mounting ? Do those seats fold down for rear access? I would love to do this swap.
