Default these NUTS are called? Where they are utilized?

Can someone please tell me what these NUTS are called and where they are used on my '74 BB?

I have a 1974 BB; 454; 270HP; M21; C60; Convertible--all original What is this nut called and where is it used? PLEASE and THANK YOU! Laurie

Somebody else will need to chime in but those are called tee nuts and are typically put into wood (thus the grabber legs) for bolts that have a machine thread.

I can’t imagine an OE use for those.

That could have been a Bubba fix for a blasted-out hole in plastic or fiberglass somewhere. Did you find them in a pile of parts, or someplace specific in the car?

They were used in the storage compartment doors that were made of fiberboard.

If you get them, use marine ones as they are SS and don't rust.

Default Mystery solved! They are from my shroud extension :)

Thanks to everyone for your input! They definitely are part of my shroud extension piece...whew! That was driving me nuts!! lol
