Default 68 pedal assembly

Morning,

Been working on removing and cleaning up things on the 68. When removing the pedal assembly, I have removed the 4 mounting bolts and the 2 bolts holding the master cylinder to the firewall. It still seams solid. I noticed 7 rivets that seem to be removed, is that correct? Any other bolts that i am missing?

Also i have removed the deck lid spring mounts. Has anyone disassembled these to clean them?. How did you do it? I have attached a pic.

Hello there gregb2121!

After watching the techs a a local Corvette shop I saw just how much they were doing light sand-blasting. It was then I decided to go that route using a large air compressor to power the Sand Blasting cabinet. The unit I bought came with a HEPA Vacuum as part of the system in an effort to keep down the dust, it is not perfect.
The second gadget I assembled for my garage use was a 15-Gallon Parts Washer with the pump and brush. I then attached a Silicone Heater Pad on the bottom of the fluid reservoir which raised the heat to ~130* (f). Using this washer I am able to remove all of the grease and oil using a heated fluid to help break the grease down.

Having the right tools makes the job so much easier. Being able to strip it clean, fix it if necessary and paint it again right away makes taking care of my 1968 a lot easier. Having a 1968 C3 just makes you MORE creative.....
