I am restoring 1968 Corvette convertible (it is an early car with black interior) and the seatbelts were cut off and the guide plate that goes under the carpet is missing on both sides. The reenforcing plates are there and in place, I cannot find the guides or original seat belts any suggestions on where to look?
As you are finding out, 68 was a one year only style seat belt. The lap belts have retractors, which at best did not work well for long. They also had a non retracting fixed shoulder belt. Check with Snake Oil or Charlie at Seatbelt Sity to see if either can offer belts, parts or rebuilding services. Jerry
