Default Firewall Heat Shield Fastener Location

I have a 76 that I want to install the lower firewall heat shields. I have all the parts for driver and passenger sides. The rub is that after looking through the assembly manual I have found the installation of the shields but was looking more specifically for some data that shows precisely where to drill the holes in the firewall. I can make a best guess but was wondering if anyone had any information to locate the attachment stud holes or perhaps share a picture of their factory installation. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This is the stud that needs to be riveted to firewall, four places.

Looking for location of these holes, both sides.

Ballpark guess where it belongs. I have added a layer of diamond embossed stainless steel to the heat shields to make them look a bit better.

Looks like all '76s should have gotten the shields... but your plates were removed and the holes filled in?
Since you have to pull back the carpet from the firewall to install the stud plates anyway, maybe look behind the carpet to see if there is evidence of patching.

Owen, thanks for reply. The interior is out of the car and there is no evidence these were installed from the factory. This car has a build date of March 1976 from what I can tell they stopped putting these on near the end of 1975 or early in the 1976 production year. A bit confusing.

If it was only part year, it's weird that the AIM doesn't have a deletion date in the revisions box.

I struggle with the revision dates of the drawings, typically I think the manual will have an "INACTIVE" stamp on a completely revised drawing but none here.
