Does anyone know the part numbers that would be on a 72 vette front rubber brake hose.I believe mine are original what i can make out is j3335 22001.If they are going to replace them all in an never ending attempt to improve brake pedal feel.Brakes work ok but want better than that.
It doesn't sound like a GM part number... 3998231 was the assembly line number; 357793 was the OTC part number for the fronts.
Can you post pics of the metal ferrules and crimps at each end?

Think I'm just going to replace all the rubber hoses. If that is a date code for 2001 overdue anyways and the car had a frame on restoration in 2006 and I have all the bills and no sign they were done then. Thanks for the input.
That looks to be single-crimped. They could very easily be originals. Originals did not come with GM parts numbers on them; they had the manufacturers own numbers and coding.
Thanks one thing that makes me think they might be original is the J on the hose.I know on the first gen camaro the disc brake rpo code was j52 so j might be significant as far as originality.Going to change them out for sure anyways

A clearer pic of the connectors would be helpful. The enlarged fuzzy pic doesn't show the detail of the crimp – looks smooth to me, almost like a plastic sleeve. The judging guide says that original hoses should have a white or red stripe the length of the hose, DOT markings, and single crimps. The crimps are not smooth but show ridges and a flare at the rubber joint.
